The Democratic party's efforts to block President Bush's judicial nominations has reached the stage of absurdity. During confirmation hearings for Bill Pryor, who is nominated to a seat on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Senator Russell Feingold actually suggested that Attorney General Pryor's decision to cancel a trip to Disney World so as to avoid exposing his young children to an event called "Gay Day" (and why Disney thinks they ought to be staging such events is a whole separate subject) somehow disqualifies Pryor from serving as a federal judge. National Review's Kathryn Jean Lopez wrote a fine piece on this bit of kabuki theater of the absurd>/a>
